Authentication Experience
Connecting a data source takes seconds. Depending on the service, you will use one of three auth methods:
OAuth One-click connect
Click Connect, authorize in a popup, done. We handle token refresh automatically. Available for major platforms including Google Workspace, Slack, Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, GitHub, Shopify, Stripe, and more.
API Key Paste once
For tools that use API keys, paste your key once. We encrypt and store it securely per organization. Available for hundreds of additional services.
Credentials Username and password
Username and password for legacy or on-premise systems. Credentials are encrypted at rest and scoped to your organization.

How Connections Work
Browse available apps
Go to the Connections page and browse by category or search for a specific app.
Authorize or enter your key
For one-click integrations, we handle authentication automatically. For API-key services, you enter your key once and we store it securely.
Data starts flowing
Groundstone immediately begins collecting recent data and then runs on a schedule to keep your graph up to date.
Configuring Collection
What gets collected
Each connection has sensible defaults for what data to pull. For example, Gmail collects email metadata, subject lines, and body text. QuickBooks pulls invoices, bills, and customer records. You can adjust what gets collected from the connection's settings panel after linking it.
Collection schedules
By default, each connection runs on a daily schedule. On the first sync, Groundstone pulls recent historical data (typically the last 30 days). After that, it checks for new items on a regular cadence. You can configure the schedule from Settings > Schedules.
Data privacy
- Your data stays in your organization's isolated graph. No data is shared between organizations.
- You can disconnect a source at any time to stop collection.
- OAuth tokens can be revoked directly from the provider (Google, Slack, etc.) if needed.
- API keys are encrypted at rest and scoped to your organization.
Custom Sources
For data sources without a built-in connector, use the Ingest API to push data directly. This works with any system that can make HTTP requests, including Zapier, Make.com, n8n, and custom scripts.
